The short version: we only have what you choose to send us, we use it to reply to you, and we don’t track you around this site.

Who we are
REBEL Design Studio (“REBEL”, “we”, “us”) is a web design studio in Galway, Ireland, run by Shane Costello. We are the controller of the personal data described here. For anything to do with your data, email hello@rebelstudio.ie.
What we collect and why
When you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you put in your message. We use it to reply and to talk about working together. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
When you visit the site, our hosting provider receives your IP address and basic browser information, because that’s how a web page reaches your device. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a website that works and stays secure.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. It stores one small note in your browser’s local storage to remember that you’ve seen the opening animation, so it doesn’t play every time. It contains nothing about you and never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Who handles data for us
Vercel hosts this website, and our email provider delivers and stores messages sent to us. They act on our behalf. We don’t sell your data or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
Transfers outside Europe
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the GDPR allows, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with what you asked about, and project correspondence for as long as we need it for the work and for our legal and accounting obligations. Then we delete it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to:
- Show you the personal data we hold about you
- Correct it if it’s wrong
- Delete it
- Restrict or object to how we use it
- Give you a copy in a portable format

Changes to this policy
If what we do with data changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
